Reconciliation

The Sacrament of First Reconciliation is a Parish based coordinated program.  This approach acknowledges the important role of parents and families in the whole preparation process as parents are the first educators of children in their faith. The Parish Sacramental Team and parish community, as well as St Patrick's Primary school staff and Catechists, support families during the program.  In this partnership, the spiritual development of a child can be nourished and grown.  We hope that families enjoy the family centred Sacramental Program and experience a warm sense of belonging.  If you have any enquiries regarding the program, please do not hesitate to contact Kay Macadam (Sacramental coordinator).

Sacrament of First Reconciliation

"On the evening of that day, the first day of the week," Jesus showed himself to his apostles. "He breathed on them, and said to them: 'Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained"' (Jn 20:19, 22-23).

The forgiveness of sins committed after Baptism is conferred by a particular sacrament called the sacrament of conversion, confession, penance, or reconciliation. Catechism of the Catholic Church 1485-1486
